Intelligent Course Search

The Intelligent Course Search (ICS) is an advanced tool developed to facilitate the retrieval of course content. Additionally, it offers services such as content summarization and the generation of question banks to aid students in their studies. ICS also features comprehensive analytics, multilingual support, and a view that enables students to track their interactions with the tool.

Enabling ICS

By default, ICS is hidden in the course sidebar, allowing faculty members to control when and how it is used. To enable ICS, access your course settings, select the Navigation tab, scroll to Intelligent Course Search, and click the three vertical dots to activate the tool.

This screen indicates your content is being added to our secure, UCF-managed cloud database. The data will not be used to train a large language model. Processing time varies by course size. If this screen persists for over 15 minutes, refresh the page and ask the tool a question to check if your content is available. If not, please submit  Webcourses Support ticket for assistance.

Administrator Page

The Intelligent Course Search admin page provides teachers and users with admin permission to access data on interactions conducted through ICS. It includes information such as when students engage with the tool, the types of questions asked, frequently referenced modules, and common keywords in student queries. This tool can help identify areas where users may be experiencing difficulties during the course.

Potential Errors That May Occur
