How to Connect to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD VDI ) and Access an Assigned Virtual Workstation


 

This article will describe how to install and authenticate with the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) preview application from the Microsoft Store and how to access any assigned virtual machines that you’ve been given access to.

 

1. Get the Azure Virtual Desktop application from the Microsoft Store website by clicking the “Get in Store applink from the site listed below:

2. Click “Open” to on the Azure Virtual Desktop application popup to allow the application to resolve dependencies and download / install.

3. Once the application has installed and opened, on the “Let’s get started” page, click the “Subscribe” button:

4. In the authentication box, sign in with your University of Central Florida account (e.g., NID@ucf.edu):

5. After you have authenticated with your University of Central Florida account, you should see a tile for your Azure Virtual Desktop, double-click that choice to sign into your virtual PC:
