Intro

Webcourses uses UCF's Single Sign On (SSO) authentication services and challenges all users with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).  It is important to sign in using your NID and NID password since the service allows you to sign in with multiple accounts (e.g., your knights email account).  This guide will demonstrate how to sign in, as well as what to do if you receive one of the common notification messages.

How to Sign on to Webcourses

There are multiple ways to sign into webcourses, but the most common way is to:

  1.  Visit https://webcourses.ucf.edu
  2.  Enter your NID and add "@ucf.edu"
    1.  NOTE:  Your NID is your username and "@ucf.edu" tells the authentication services that your username lives at UCF.edu (it is not related to your Knights Email)
  3.  Click "Next"
    • IMPORTANT:  BE SURE to use your NID@ucf.edu and not an account that may already be signed in such as your Knights email account because it will not work and you will receive an error (Note – this does not mean that your email has changed, the Microsoft Authenticator simply requires you to use your NID for registration)
  4.  Use the default selected method to sign in (e.g., "use my password" if this is your first time signing in with MFA:Graphical user interface, application, TeamsDescription automatically generatedAlternatively, if you have previously signed in using MFA, you can click "Back" to use a different method:

  5.  Approve your MFA request or follow the on-screen instructions to enroll in Microsoft MFA.  For more information, visit KB0013963
    • IMPORTANT: Please do not remove the MS Authenticator app from your personal device after logging in. You will need to use MFA for future logins as well as the first time authenticating to Webcourses.

What if you receive an error in red text stating 'Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'University of Central Florida'...

This error means you have attempted to access Webcourses with a previously signed in user account that is not your NID (e.g., your Knights email account).  Only your NID and not your Knights email account has access to Webcourses.

Error Example:
