Private (on-campus) DNS Servers

• All systems in the NET domain should point to the NET domain DNS servers. The NET domain has multiple on-campus domain controllers to be used for DNS.
• AD Site-aware servers and applications should use the domain "net.ucf.edu" for DNS resolution. 

AKA DNS Alias 

• AKA records provide NET domain DNS resolution for systems and applications located at main campus, DSO, and in Azure that are not aware of Active Directory sites for authentication, such as those using LDAP binds. Applications should be pointed to the appropriate "aka” DNS record instead of the regular “net.ucf.edu” FQDN for all authentication traffic so they are not referred to remote sites.

For systems not joined to the NET domain, we offer internal recursive DNS servers that all campus DNS servers should use as forwarders. These servers forward external queries to Cisco Umbrella for added protection.
