The steps below will walk you through the processes of creating an Obojobo assignment in your Webcourses@UCF course. This assignment will be viewable directly in the course for students and scores will automatically be synced with your Gradebook.
NOTE: Once an Obojobo assignment is created, it can be copied over with course materials and does not need to be recreated each semester.
Create the Assignment
- Click Assignments within the course navigation.

- Create a new assignment.
- Enter the Assignment Name, number of Points, Due Date, and any other relevant information needed for the assignment.
- Scores from Obojobo range from 0%-100%, so a student who scores a perfect 100% will get the number of points you specify here. (For example: If a student scores a 50% for this widget and you specify 20 points for this assignment then they will receive 10/20 points).
- In the Submission Type section, select External Tools from the drop-down menu, then click the Find button.

- A popup dialog box will appear. Scroll down and select Obojobo Next Module (gradebook synced). This will open the Obojobo module selector in a new popup dialog.

Select a Learning Object
In this new window, you may select the Obojobo module you’d like to use .
- If you’re new to Obojobo or would like to use an Obojobo module that has already been created by a subject matter expert team at UCF, select Community Collection. If you would like to use a module that you’ve built yourself, select Personal Library.

- After selecting one of the above options, you will then see all of the available modules in the selected context, as well as a Create a New Module button that will create a new module and add it to our personal library. Clicking the Preview link next to any module in the list will allow you to go through that module as a student, and clicking the Embed button will allow you to proceed to the next step.

- Clicking the Embed button will proceed to the Embed Options step, where you can determine whether or not students who have previously completed the selected module's assessment will have the option to import their previous assessment score. Selecting 'Yes' here will allow students to import their old assessment scores rather than going through the module's assessment again, and selecting 'No' will require students to take the assessment regardless of any previous scores. If you'd like to go back and choose another module, click the Cancel link, or if you would like to continue click the Finish button.

- Clicking Finish will generate an external tool URL and close the Obojobo popup dialog automatically when finished.
Complete the Assignment
After finishing a module selection, you should be redirected back to the Configure External Tool popup dialog from before. You can confirm that the module is ready to be embedded by checking for a URL in this dialog. You may have to scroll down before this is visible.

- Click Select to close the External Tool window.
- Click Save & Publish or Save to complete this process.Since you are the owner of your Webcourses course you will see the Obojobo module in preview mode. No interactions or scores are recorded in this mode. Your students’ interactions and scores will be recorded, as you would expect.
Add an Obojobo Assignment to a Module
Follow the steps above to create an Obojobo assignment, then add the assignment to a module by following the instructions below:
Add an Obojobo Assignment
- Click the + button to add a module item.

- Select the Obojobo assignment you created, and click the Add Item button.

Ungraded Learning Objects
Here are two other ways to include Obojobo in Webcourses@UCF. Note that using these methods won’t automatically sync Obojobo scores to your gradebook!
- You can add an external tool to a module without having to create an assignment. Create a new module, select External Tool, and follow the instructions as described in the first section.
- You can also simply include an Obojobo link in your course.
