How to connect to the (eduroam) Wireless Network using iOS on iPhone



eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. eduroam allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions by simply opening their laptop and connecting to the eduroam wireless network.

Is it safe?: eduroam is based on the most secure encryption and authentication standards in existence today. Its security by far exceeds typical commercial hotspots.


iOS on iPhone Setup Instructions:

  1. From the Home Screen, click on the Settings icon




  2. In the setting menu, select Wi-Fi 




  3. From the List of available Wi-Fi Networks, select eduroam




  4. In the Username field enter your NID in the following format:  NID@ucf.edu
  5. In the Password field enter your NID password
  6. Click, Join

    Note: The Join option will become highlighted once you enter your (NID@ucf.edu) credentials and password.





  7. Click Trust to validate the authenticity of the network
