UCF Reset Password Using Cisco SBL


The following steps describe how to change your NID/VC-DTC password on a UCF IT Device after updating to Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client v4.9 with Start Before Login (SBL).

 

Step 1 – Reset NID Password

Option 1 – Self Reset Tool

1. On another device, open your preferred web browser and visit https:\\mynid.ucf.edu

2. Under Account (NID/VC-DTC), enter your NID/VC-DTC (ex. al123456 or jdoe20) within the textbox. Then, enter the case-sensitive characters into the captcha box.

3. You can confirm ownership of your account by selecting Confirm via Email. Enter one of the partially completed registered emails and then enter the verification code that you received in the email you specified.

NOTE: For ease of entering the verification code, you can copy (CTRL + C) and then paste (CTRL + V) or by highlighting and then right clicking “Copy” then “Paste”. If after copying and pasting you receive a “Invalid code” error, double check that a space was not added at the end.

4. Change your password following all the requirements for a secure password. After setting a password that meets the requirements, you will see a green Very Strong and a green Password match. Then, click Set Password.

Option 2 – Contact Phone Support

IMPORTANT: If you are having difficulty resetting your password using the Self Reset Tool, use this option.

1. Call the UCF IT Support Center at (407) 823-5117.

2. Verify your information with the live representative and they will grant you a temporary password which you should then change.

 

Step 2 – Connect to Internet

NOTE: Depending on the type of device you have (ex. Laptop or Desktop), your method to connect to the Internet will vary based on hardware.

1. Power on the device.

2. Once you are at the Windows Lock Screen, press CTRL + ALT + DEL to proceed to Login.

3. On the bottom-right corner of the Windows Login Screen, verify that you are connected to the Internet through Wi-Fi or Ethernet . If you see , you are not currently connected to the Internet and clicking on this icon will allow you to view available Networks.

 

Step 3 – Connect to UCF VPN

1. After successfully connecting to the Internet, click to launch UCF VPN Client (Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client).

2. You will be prompted to connect. Verify that the address in box is https://secure.vpn.ucf.edu or secure.vpn.ucf.edu and press Connect.

3. Another window will appear prompting to enter your NID/VC-DTC credentials. Enter your new NID/VC-DTC credentials and select OK.

4. The End User License Agreement (EULA) will appear. You will need to Accept the terms to continue.

5. Once successfully connected to UCF VPN, you will see on the bottom-right corner of the screen. For additional information about the updated UCF VPN Client, please refer to KB0013143.

 

Step 4 – Login

1. Enter your NID/VC-DTC and new password.

2. You should successfully login and stay connected to UCF VPN. For additional information on when to use the UCF VPN, please refer to KB0012704.
