Microsoft Teams Meetings FAQs

What are team meetings?

Team meetings are a quick and easy way for people in a channel to go from a conversation to an impromptu meeting.
Anyone from the team can join. Team meetings include audio, video, and screen sharing. You always have a meeting space, and you’ll never need a room or projector. Team meetings are internal only meetings and cannot be joined by anyone outside of UCF. If you need to include outside entities in a Teams meeting please use Skype for Business.

You can make direct calls and group calls without having to host a meeting. These are private and won’t appear in any team conversation. Click  to start a new conversation, and then choose  or to start a video or audio call.

Can I send a message to someone on Skype for Business from Microsoft Teams?

No, unfortunately at this time messages sent in Teams can only be sent to Teams users which means that Team chat will go to Team users and Skype for Business to Skype for Business users.

Can users dial-in using a phone to a Microsoft Teams Meetings?

At this time UCF's Microsoft Teams tenant does not have a dial-in conference bridge, or voice capability to replace your Skype for Business softphone. If a dial-in conference bridge is needed for meetings users will need to create and schedule the meeting using Skype for Business to utilize the Conference Bridge.
