May I review the documents contained within my UCF permanent file?

Yes. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) and State of Florida statutes allow students to inspect and review their educational records within 30 days upon filing a written and signed request to the University. FERPA does restrict viewing access to certain document classifications, however. Submit a written and signed request for record inspection in person to the Registrar’s Office (MH 161) or by fax to 407-823-5652. A Registrar’s Office representative will contact you to schedule a viewing appointment. FERPA regulations require that the written request be signed; therefore, e-mail and telephone requests cannot be honored. For detailed information describing FERPA regulations, consult either the Registrar’s Office web site at http://registrar.ucf.edu or the United States Department of Education Family Compliance Office web site at http://www.ed.gov/offices/OM/fpco/
