There are spam, phishing, and antivirus protection for incoming email messages sent to @ucf.edu, @mail.ucf.edu, and @creol.ucf.edu addresses.

In addition, the system will strip off certain attachment file types due to their potential for being exploitable code (viruses and worms). The e-mail attachments which are currently being removed are:

.zip .bat .com .cmd .exe .scr .pif .vbs

In addition to the email scanning, UCF IT recommends that all client (end-user) systems have anti-virus software installed for another level of protection. Please contact your department's computer support team to check the status of anti-virus software on your computer.
