Connecting to Campus Wireless

 

UCF_WPA2 / DTCampus are the secure on campus wireless network solutions for use by students, facility, and staff with an active Network ID (NID). These are the recommended networks for on campus wireless connectivity and are available on most of UCF’s campus locations. This article will help you connect your device to the local UCF wireless network.

Note: If you need assistance retrieving your NID, please go to http://mynid.ucf.edu and click on the "I forgot my Account" link which is located to the right of the Account box.

Instructions for Android -

  1. From the Home Screen, click on the Settings icon:   

Note: You may also swipe down from the top of the screen, touch and hold the Wi-Fi icon, turn on Use Wi-Fi, and tap a listed network. On your device, settings may also be located via the Apps menu



  1. In the settings menu, select Wi-Fi



  2. From the List of available Wi-Fi networks, select your local UCF network



  3. In the EAP method field select PEAP
    Note: In the CA certificate field choose do not validate certificate online

  4. In the identity field, enter your NID

  5. In the Password field enter your NID password

  6. Click, Connect



  7. Congratulations! You are now connected to the UCF Wireless Network

Instructions for IOS -                                                                                                     

  1. From the Home Screen, click the Settings icon
  2. In the settings menu, select Wi-Fi 



  3. From the List of available Wi-Fi Networks, select your local UCF network



  4. In the Username field enter you NID

  5. In the Password field enter your NID password



  6. Click Join

Note: The Join option will become highlighted once you enter your NID credentials and password

  1. Click Trust to validate the authenticity of the network

  1. Congratulations! You are now connected to the UCF Wireless Network

Instructions for Windows -


  1. From the Desktop, click the Network icon (lower-right corner) to show the available networks                    




  2. From the List of available Networks, select your local UCF network



  3. Select the Connect automatically check box, and click Connect
  4. In the Username field enter your NID

  5. In the Password field enter your NID password

  6. Click, OK



  7. Click Connect to validate the authenticity of the network

Note: If you would like to view more information click, Show certificate detail



  1. Congratulations! You are now connected to the UCF wireless Network

Instructions for MacOS -

  1. From the Desktop, click the Network icon  (upper-right corner) to show available networks



  2. From the List of available networks, select your local UCF network


  3. In the Username field enter your NID

  4. In the Password field enter your NID password
  5. Check Remember this network to connect to this network automatically.
    NoteIf you would like to ensure you have typed your password correctly you can use the Show password check box.

  6. Click, Join


  7. Click, Continue


  8. Congratulations! You are now connected to the UCF Wireless Network
