Resetting NID Password using Microsoft Password Reset
The current NID password reset tool: mynid.ucf.edu is becoming Microsoft password reset: https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/?whr=ucf.ucf.edu
To use Microsoft password reset, you will need to be using Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to protect your NID. Most students are currently using this feature.
If you use Duo MFA to reset your password, please continue using the current site: mynid.ucf.edu to reset your password.
Here are the steps to reset your password using Microsoft password reset.
1. Copy and paste this link onto any browser: https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/?whr=ucf.ucf.edu
2. In the Email or Username box, enter your NID@ucf.edu.
Enter in the characters of the CAPTCHA and then click Next.
3. Select the “I forgot my password” option. Click Next.
Note: If you know your password but have enter it incorrectly too many times, your account may have gotten locked out. You have the option of unlocking your account without having to do a password reset. To do so, go to step 8 of this article.
4. Select the contact method that you wish for verification.
5. Enter the verification code you received. Click Next.
6. Enter in your new password and then confirm it. Click Finish.
7. Once your password has been successfully reset, you will see the below message.
8. To unlock your NID account, select “I know my password, but still can’t sign in”. Click Next.
9. Select the contact method that you wish for verification.
10. Enter the verification code you received. Click Next.
11. You will receive the following message after a successful account unlock.
