UCF has partnered with Bitly to offer access to the UCF community to a cloud-based tool tailored for generating official, UCF-branded shortened URLs and QR codes. This service is exclusively available for UCF Faculty and Staff and is restricted for use solely for official UCF business contexts, websites, and web pages.

What Is Bitly?

UCF IT now offers UCF branded, shortened URLs and QR codes. The purpose of this service is to create brief, memorable URLs/QR codes for departments, colleges, groups, or events for marketing purposes. This includes, but is not limited to:

The domain go.ucf.edu has been established as the UCF Marketing-driven URL for the University.

Who is Eligible?

NOTE: This offering is not available for personal, non-university business.
 
UCF IT controls the peripheral naming schemes associated with URLs, such as vanity URLs, short URLs, and other redirects, for practical management of the University's collective digital presence. The Enterprise Application Support team reserves the right to terminate any previously awarded shortened URL if:

Bitly Link Analytics

Bitly provides analytics that allow users to gain insight into how the shortened links are performing. If you need information on Bitly links but do not have an official Bitly license, request a Bitly Metrics Report

Bitly UTMs

UTMs are useful in scenarios where you have multiple Bitly links going to the same destination URL. For more information, please refer to the Bitly UTMs knowledge base article.
