Long Term Zoom Recording Storage

Zoom has a limit on the amount of total video storage that can be used for Cloud Recordings, and videos are automatically deleted after 12 months. This procedure will enable users to move Zoom videos into OneDrive or Teams.

Download Zoom Recording

  1. Sign in to Zoom at https://ucf.zoom.us
  2. Click Recordings on the left side navigation.
  3. Under the cloud recordings tab at the top, you will have a list of the recordings you have made and stored in the Zoom cloud.
  4. Click more and click download. The files will be copied to your “Downloads” folder.

Upload Zoom Recording to OneDrive for Business

The steps below detail instructions for uploading files via the OneDrive website. Depending on the web browser you use, you can upload files up to 100GB in size. (This limit is per file, not total.)

  1. Login to https://www.office.com/ using your NID and Password.
  2. Access OneDrive (Cloud Icon) on the application launcher screen and then browse to the location where you want to add the files. Tip: Create a separate folder called Zoom Recordings and organize them by topic or date. The image below shows where you can create a new folder.
  3. Select Upload and navigate to your Downloads folder to upload the file. As an alternative method, you can also drag and drop files straight to the OneDrive website.

Upload a Recording to Teams

Microsoft Teams provides up to 25TB of storage for files and videos and is an excellent alternative for storing Zoom recordings.

  1. Download the Zoom recording as noted above.
  2. Locate the Microsoft Team and Channel you prefer to store Zoom recordings. Click the Files tab and the folder.

  1. Either Drag the Zoom recording or click the “Upload” button to store it in Teams.

For additional reference, the Zoom recording can be access via the Teams SharePoint site and shared as needed. The UCF Teams SharePoint Online site will be located at https://ucf.sharepoint.com/sites/teamname. The file will be in the Documents folder and a corresponding folder that is the same name as the channel.
