This article will guide you through migrating a File Share and SharePoint content to Microsoft Teams or OneDrive using the SharePoint Migration Tool. This data transfer method is for advanced users who are comfortable transferring large (20GB+) of data to a Microsoft Team or OneDrive location. Using the SharePoint migration tool incorrectly can result in data loss. If you are uncomfortable performing this transfer process feel free to contact the UCF IT Support Center for assistance.
IMPORTANT: This process requires free hard drive space greater than the biggest file being transferred to complete successfully. For example, if your largest file is 15 GB (Gigabytes) you MUST have at least 15 GB available on your device.
To check available disk space on your device, open File Explorer
Navigate to This PC and check the available space for the C: drive.
To install the current release go to SharePoint Migration Tool to download. Review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and check I agree and click the Install button to continue.
Click the downloaded installer to run the setup. Setup will be completed automatically.
When SPMT is launched, you will be prompted to the sign-in window. Enter your NID@ucf.edu and you will be redirected to the UCF Federated login.
Please login with your NID and NID Password
