UCF FourWinds Instance Access and Configuration


Access

All users and displays must be pre-configured by Enterprise Applications prior to use. Once users and signs are added, they may be accessed and managed via the remote application server that hosts the application.

To access:

  1. From an internet browser, navigate to: https://remoteapp.net.ucf.edu.
  2. Login with UCF NID and NID password.
  3. Any applications the user may access will be displayed in the menu.
  4. Click the FourWinds Content Manager icon to access FourWinds.
  5. A “cpub” remote desktop application link will download.
  6. Open the “cpub” link.
  7. Log in again using your NID and NID password. (If you are not on the NET domain - SDES, FIEA, etc. - you will need to type in DOMAIN\NID in order to gain access.)
  8. If this is your first time access the software, it will need to be configured for your use. Please see the First Time Use Configuration section.

First Time Use Configuration

The first time a user accesses the software, the database must be configured. Perform the steps below to access the database and complete setup. NOTE: If you have already gone through this process yet you are prompted again to configure the database, this is normal. There are two servers in the remote application server farm. You should not have to do this more than twice.

  1. Click “Create or connect to a shared database” in the Content Manager Desktop Setup Wizard.
  2. Click the “New” button and select “Database Connection” from the drop-down list

  3. In the box for Server name, type in: UCFDB01CLAG.net.ucf.edu,50001

  4. In the lower half, under Connect to a database, in the field for Select or enter a database name: type in: UCFIT_FWI

  5. Click OK.
  6. Expand the new database so that “University of Central Florida” shows underneath.

  7. Click “University of Central Florida” on the lower line and click Next.
  8. When prompted with a username and password to connect, use "Config" for the username and "UCFIT2019" for the password. Both are case sensitive.
  9. Click OK. 
  10. Click Finish without typing in any information. 
  11. Scroll to the bottom of the EULA Confirmation screen and click Accept. 
  12. Exit the application completely. SELECT "DISCARD CHANGES." DO NOT SAVE CHANGES.
  13. Go back into the application. 
  14. You should now see the signage displays to which you have access, along with any content groups to save content.
