Here is a list of some of the more common issues when using smart classrooms at UCF, and how you can fix them quickly so you can get back to instruction!
1. Computer screen and projector not showing the same image?
- Hold the Window button and press 'P". Select "Duplicate."
- Note: The Windows button will have four square boxes.
2. Touch panel (or control panel) is dark or not turned on?
- Touch the screen to wake up. Press the "System On" button.
3. Computer not working (no image)?
- Check the computer power button and computer monitor power button.
- Note: Does not apply to TCH building.
4. Microphone not working?
- Gently press the button and wait a few seconds for it to activate.
- You can also review the Zoom adjustment instructions in #6 below.
5. Projector not showing what you want it to show?
- Press the button on the touch panel for the source you want to project.
- Make sure the system is turned on.
6. Audio issues? The source of the issue could be the system audio, or Zoom audio.
- For system audio adjustment:
- Option 1:
- Look for a speaker icon in the lower right of the screen.
- Click on it and choose the correct speaker for the room (usually Crestron). If Crestron is not a choice, toggle through the options available, clicking and moving the volume slider. This will create a sound if it is the correct option. If you do not hear sound, try the next option.
- Option 2:
- Right click the speaker icon click "Sounds".
- In the box that appears, click the "Playback" tab.
- Right click on the Device and choose test. If you hear a sound, choose that speaker by clicking on the speaker icon in the lower right of the screen.
- For Zoom audio adjustment:
- On the lower left side of the Zoom client is what looks to be a microphone. Click on it and a selection window with basically two sections pops up.
- The bottom section has the speaker selection and the easiest suggestion is to choose “Same as System”.
- The top is the microphone selection and that one is usually the one with the word “CODEC” in it.
