What if I can not connect to ResNet?


Register/Update your account:
If you have not registered your computer, please visit http://www.resnet.ucf.edu and follow the instructions on how to register your computer in your room.

If you are returning from semester break, be sure that you sign on to the ResNet secure sign on and select that you are back from break.

If you are still having trouble:

Check your cables
Make sure that your Ethernet cable is securely connected to both your computer and the bottom data port in the wall jack of your room. Try using a different Ethernet cable (one that you know is good).

Reboot
Reboot your computer and try to connect to the Internet again.

Try a different wall jack
If you are still unable to connect, try connecting to a different wall jack. If your roommate is able to connect to the Internet, try plugging your computer into their wall jack and then reboot your computer. If you can connect to the Internet at that point, please contact the UCF Service Desk to have your wall jack repaired.

If you still cannot get online after trying another wall jack, please contact the UCF Service Desk at 407-823-5117 and a representative will troubleshoot the issue with you.
