This article will help you connect your PC, Mac or Mobile Device to the UCF wireless network. Most buildings on the UCF main campus, except for some student housing areas, have wireless signal coverage.
To connect to UCF Wireless network for the first time, follow these steps:
Note: There are additional steps needed for some types of devices. For Chromebook devices visit this article. For Linux devices visit this article.
- Open wireless network in your device settings
- Select the UCF_WPA2 network if on the main (Orlando) campus, or DTCampus if you are on the downtown campus.
- Use your NID as you username (Do not know your NID?)
- and your NID password as your password (Need to reset your NID password?)
- If you see the "Anonymous Username" field, leave it blank
- Change Certificate to “Don’t validate”
- Domain: NET
- Click Connect
- Be sure to set network type as “Public” if asked.
Tips:
- Remove cached credentials on shared computers
- Be sure your computer has the latest updates installed
- The NID password expires one year from your last password reset. You can reset it by accessing a different device that is online (either on the UCF Network or cellular provider if a mobile device), or by logging onto the UCF_Guest network, visiting https://mynid.ucf.edu and following the on-screen instructions. Use the UCF_WPA2 network after your password is reset. The UCF_Guest network will not allow access to certain internal networks and services.
Important: No unauthorized devices providing wireless services should be attached to the UCF network. They will be removed by Network Services (see University Policy 4-003).
